Maths CPD needs to active, reflective and metacognitive. Our maths training focuses on incorporating and delivering the skills of the maths curriculum in an interactive, fun-filled, shared learning environment, rich in:

  • Effective questioning
  • Flexible Thinking

All training is designed and delivered in the context of your own maths curriculum and we already deliver CPD in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and in the UAE.

The aims and skills of maths curricula are often difficult to confidently address, while you are so focused on delivering content. Our maths training allows teachers to fully embrace these aims: problem solving; fluency; reasoning, by exposing teachers to unprecedented levels of variety and depth. Opportunities for integrating and connecting become abundantly clear during these sessions, to the point where teachers freely admit to their own relationship with mathematics as a teacher being significantly improved.

We have already established training programmes in NI and ROI, whereby schools can access a certified Izak9 Tutor in their own region.

Regionally certified Izak9 tutors will have completed a one day course followed by the completion of a series of milestones. Once evidence of these milestones has been assessed by Qubizm, we can confidently certify their proficiency of the tutor as an ‘Izak9 Tutor’.

The milestones involve submitting evidence of the planning and successful delivery of:

  • Effective teaching and learning with pupils, using Izak9
  • Whole School staff training with Izak9
  • Parent/Family workshop event using Izak9

Tutors are certified as being eligible to deliver training in the use of Izak9 to Schools.

To be certified as an ‘Izak9 Superuser’, trainers must complete additional milestones over and above Tutor level. These milestones involve

  • successful adaptation of the use of Izak9 across different age ranges of pupils,
  • the use of Izak9 in school/inter school projects
  • the creation of additional task or question material for project use

Superusers are passionate and innovative practitioners who have made an outstanding contribution to raising standards in the teaching and learning of maths in their own school and/or cluster. They are also a source of inspiration for Izak9 users globally as their ideas are shared as examples of leading practice on our Izak9 blog page.

In addition to being able to deliver Izak9 training in schools, Superusers are certified to provide consultation on developing programmes involving the use of Izak9 and how its use can positively impact on whole school life.
